Mayan Monkey Hotel & Hostel Tulum

As my first solo trip, I was nervous, but the staff and other guests were so friendly. It wasn't peak season, so it was a little emptier, and the people I met were amazing. My favorite part was hanging out at the bar and talking with Brian. He's the best thing about the hostel, knows a lot about the area and activities, and we quickly became friends over all kinds of conversations. It's a bit far from some activities, like the beach and cenotes, as you'd expect, but they offer lots of programs you can sign up for and provide transportation. I'll absolutely come back.

Brian, Kevin, and Alexis made us feel cared for like friends, not just customers. Their service went above and beyond. The hostel has shared and private rooms, and breakfast includes both indulgent and healthy choices. In the morning there are group yoga classes in the indoor common area. Later, the bar and pool area have a lively nightlife, with things like salsa classes, live music, and even pop-up tattoo artists. It's a perfect spot near Tulum National Park, with its beautiful beaches and Ancient Mayan Ruins. 10/10 vacation spot.

My servers brian and deigo were so friendly and quick, and always pointed me to the best food options. Seeing them each morning made my day. The rooms were clean, the people were friendly, and I made the best memories and friends here. I had the best time at Mayan monkey, they made it a 10/10 experience.

We upgraded to a private room and it was super comfortable, so no complaints there. The dorm rooms seemed like they'd seen better days, though the rooms overall were okay. Front desk service was fine, nothing special. The DJs, though, were something else. Music can be loud at a party hostel, but this was so loud the bass blurred together and everything vibrated. It went on until somewhere between 00:30 and 1:30am, and even guests who were there to party complained. We were relieved to leave. It looked really cool at first, which made the stay sadder.
