There are nice places for breakfast and dinner nearby, along with a supermarket. We spent two weeks in a two-bedroom apartment with direct access to the pool. It was clean and well furnished, and every room had air conditioning. Our host and the staff were great and helpful. You can also rent bikes at reception.

There were frequent power cuts, and whenever the electricity went out we heard a loud boom and smelled something burning. The apartment owners, Hugo and Reuben, weren’t available, and we spent many hours without power. In the end, they charged us for excessive electricity use. They also accused us of making noise, though we had proof that the apartment next door was playing loud music. They didn’t answer our calls during the long periods without electricity, and their response during our stay was very poor. The apartment was missing plates, glasses, toilet paper, and towels. They blamed us for damage we hadn’t caused, including a door handle and the washing machine, which was already broken and which we hadn’t even used. We have a video of that. We left with a 2,000-peso fine that we’d paid upfront and couldn’t really dispute. It’s worth paying a little more for an apartment with caring, humane owners who provide what you need.
