The staff were wonderful, but the hotel didn’t match the owners’ description and I was very disappointed. I was left stranded at the airport, the hotel telephone didn’t work, and the beach was much farther away by bike than described. The cable box also didn’t work. The bathroom window wouldn’t close, which defeats the point of using the air conditioning. And the pool is only deep enough for wading.

I loved the vibe here, and stayed for nine nights. The staff were wonderful, the pool was cute, and there are lots of food options nearby. I rented a bicycle a few times for 200mxn per day. The location worked well for me.

The location puts you near lively bars, restaurants, and clubs, but sound comes straight into the room. A rooftop bar nearby played loud music until about 2 a.m. Saturday was unbearable; the other nights were tolerable, though still not ideal. Bikes cost $200 mxn pesos per day here, the same as local rental shops, while some hotels offer them free or at a discount. This one doesn’t. We booked an Economy Double Room for five nights because Booking.com listed a TV, mini fridge, and free toiletries. None were there. Staff said the website was wrong and needed changing, but didn’t apologize or offer anything for the missing items. The service felt unprofessional and poorly managed. The main light and ceiling fan stopped working too, leaving the room dark. The AC remote failed several times, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature or switch it off, so the room got either freezing or boiling hot. I’d have preferred somewhere farther from the centre, with better facilities, free bike use, and more helpful staff.

We’d happily stay here again. Our second-floor room was clean, nicely appointed, quiet, and had good air conditioning. The bed was a little firmer than I prefer, and the bathroom water took a while to heat up, but both were minor issues. Just off Tulum’s main street, it’s easy to walk to restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were friendly and professional, and the tree-filled courtyard and pool were peaceful.
