We loved our room in this gorgeous house. It felt like a luxurious place to retreat to, with spacious, modern rooms that each had their own character and lots of French flair. Breakfast was good every morning, and the housekeeper and maid were friendly and helpful. Myriam was welcoming too, and they all shared useful tips for restaurants and trips. Staying in the city meant we were near plenty of good restaurants, local food, and bars, which we enjoyed. The downside is the distance to the beach. It's a long way, and biking there in the heat isn't easy, so a rental car or cab is probably best. Free bikes are available, though. We had a great stay and would happily come back.

The mornings were a highlight, with Alicia making a fresh, delicious breakfast each day. Myriam was fantastic too, always helpful and full of great advice. At Villa Flor de Mayo, it really feels like home, and borrowing snorkeling gear is an option. Bikes are available for 100 pesos a day, cheaper than elsewhere in town. I loved this cozy place for relaxing during a stay in Tulum.

We're starting a three-night stay at this lovely property tonight, and the proprietor already seems like the best local guide you could ask for. It's about a five-minute walk from the main highway, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to stay quiet. Take a look and enjoy!
