Wish Tulum

A lot of the hotel is pretty awesome, and the staff are nice. But apparently a bit of dirt on a few towels means you get charged for staining them. I don't know if bleach is a thing here, but this hotel sure doesn't seem to use it. Then there's the cat. It meows all night, right when you're about to fall asleep, and it was basically outside my door. I wasn't feeling well and just wanted to rest. Maybe that's not really the hotel's fault, but I hate cats now.

We got a good price for two nights in one of the larger rooms, which worked well for our family. The front desk was friendly, and there's a nice pool and relaxation area. The nearby restaurant, El Capitan, was nice too. The room was fine, though the bathroom is quite old and urgently needs renovation.

The reception staff were helpful and spoke great English. Our room was roomy, with a fridge, oven, and utensils, and the bathroom was clean. The air conditioning and fans worked, and the complex also has a clear-water pool and a restaurant. Parking out front is limited because restaurant visitors park there too, and the hotel is about 3 km from the beach.

We got to WishTulum around 12:30, but check-in wasn't until after 3 PM and our room wasn't ready. We hung out by the pool, and the room was ready at 2 PM. It looked nice and faced the pool. Parking was right outside. We had rented bikes, so the receptionist suggested bringing them inside overnight because they aren't safe left on the street. Staff said bikes had been stolen right outside the day before. The room had a little fridge and even a watercooker. The location was handy and evenings were quiet. The one drawback was the pool's tiny shaded patch, just enough for three chairs.
