Wyndham Residences Tulum

We loved our stay at this new, comfortable hotel, though a few things need attention. There were no handrails for getting in and out of the pools, so it isn't a good choice for anyone with mobility issues. The guest elevators weren't working yet, and my mother had to use the service elevator. The jets in her private pool also didn't work. We only had dinner at the restaurant once. The menu options were quite limited, and I think they were short-staffed. The Margherita pizza was just okay, but the tapas were good.

The room and pool were nice, and the staff were hospitable. We visited in December, when it was hot with some rain. A scooter rental could be useful once you're out of the long walkway, but there were a few things that made getting around less easy. The walk from the beach road is almost 500m, and with no lights in the evening we stayed in. The signage wasn't well lit either, so we struggled to find the place on our first day. The lobby is set inside, up some steps from the road, and it would help to have someone at the gate to guide guests. We could also have used a few more outdoor chairs in our room area. The TV wouldn't connect to wifi, so we couldn't watch YouTube. At the restaurant, the food was a little expensive, and mosquitos made it impossible to sit there in the evening. Water from the Fountain tap came out very slowly. Even with those issues, I'd recommend the hotel. Everything else was nice.

The hotel isn't close to the beach, but my room overlooking the forest was the highlight. I could see thousands of different kinds of birds. I do wish the builders had planned around nature better, though. There are empty areas covered in concrete, and the natural spaces should be prioritized and protected.

You can hear and spot all kinds of beautiful birds here, with jungle all around. It's a lovely, comfortable hotel in a peaceful part of tulum, away from the main road, so it's quiet. The staff are very attentive.
