Dog owners, be careful. This was a really upsetting stay, and I’ve left hundreds of Google reviews without ever writing a bad one before. I booked through Airbnb and got an entry code but no directions. I ended up walking into another guest’s Airbnb because all the units use the same codes, which didn’t feel safe. There was no information about cleaning or anything on the door to say whether staff should come in. I left for a couple of hours and returned to find a woman cleaning my room with loud music playing. I had to wait around, and nobody had told me someone would enter. Luckily, I had no valuables out. I didn’t complain about those things, since I’m easygoing. But shortly after the cleaner left, a man who wasn’t even the Airbnb host called to say they had camera footage of my dog on the bed and her food in the room. Apparently dogs couldn’t be fed in the room or get on the bed, even though that’s how she stays in every hotel we visit. I said the listing should mention that, and he got angry, called me uneducated, talked over me, and argued whenever I tried to speak. It felt so unprofessional and uncomfortable that I had to leave. Then the woman hosting through Airbnb kept messaging me pictures of unopened dog food packages and a food dish with nothing in it. The one good part was Airbnb’s response: they helped get me out, found me a new place, and got me a refund for this awful stay. They say they’re dog friendly, but they gave me all kinds of trouble for bringing my dog. I really don’t recommend it to anyone with any self respect.
