The young woman at the little restaurant was very sweet and spoke English well, but my sister found ants in her flan after two bites. The night had already been rough. We’d chosen this place after a Best Western because the Wi-Fi there was poor, and this hotel had a strong signal at the front desk. There were eight of us, so we booked two double rooms, with four people in each, and got charged extra for having too many people in a room. One room smelled musty; the other seemed fine until we found ants all over the replacement room my parents were given. My sister and I had also drawn the attention of some unsavory drunk guests at the small, cozy pool. Then our toilet overflowed after one flush. My dad, who’s a plumber, found that the water couldn’t even be shut off. My brother told a worker, but five minutes later water was already out of the bathroom. He went looking for someone else, and saw that first worker taking a selfie in the bathroom instead of alerting maintenance. They moved us again, but the air conditioning barely worked. I’d recommend Best Western every time.

The buffet breakfast was great, with a nice choice of cooked dishes plus yogurt, fruit, and other ready-to-eat options. We felt a bit awkward arriving in very casual clothes while other guests were dressed for business, but the food was good. The staff were nice, and I loved the fancy bathroom and the suite’s Jacuzzi. You can’t beat the price, either. A room like this would cost well over $100 in the States.

A restaurant next door and a gas station shop one block away are handy, and you can catch a bus to Sam's Club or take a cheap taxi downtown. My friends have stayed here several times, and I came with them this year. I can see why they return: it’s super clean, breakfast is free, and the cafe stays open late with good coffee, sandwiches, and more. Everyone working there was great, including Manuel, the cafe staff, Mrs Juanita in the rooms, Mrs Aurelia The Ama de Llaves, and the women at the counter. Mrs Aurelia will help with whatever you need. I really recommend this place.
