SureStay Hotel by Best Western Palmareca

The grounds are spacious, green, and well cared for, and our room was clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was another highlight, with a big buffet and lots of traditional Mexican dishes. The restaurant is open to the public, though on our last morning a special event left us without a table. We had to rush to another restaurant before checkout so we wouldn't go hungry at the airport. The restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch, but there's no dinner option or place for a relaxed evening glass of wine. The location was fine, but the room's poor insulation let sounds carry, including toilets flushing next door. The AC/heater is beside the door, and we kept bumping it when coming in, which made a loud noise. Music from nearby restaurants could be heard in the evenings.

The staff were kind, courteous, and very friendly throughout our stay at the SureStay. Our spacious room was comfortable, and both the AC and refrigerator worked great. Housekeeping did a professional job each day, and we used the laundry service as well. Breakfast was delicious, with different choices each day from a huge buffet. We also used the in-house transportation company three times. It costs more than street taxis, but felt secure and gave us confidence. There's also a travel agency on site. The pool looked tempting, though we never swam. It was a very pleasant stay, and I'd gladly return.

We stayed at Palmareca for nearly two weeks and were very happy with our choice. Even though it's on a busy street, the room was completely peaceful and quiet. Our housekeeper, Nayeli, kept it spotless, and the grounds and pool were beautiful and well maintained. Reception staff were consistently pleasant and helpful, and they handled our concerns quickly and professionally. The restaurant servers were outstanding and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The chef at the Huevos al Gusto stand did a great job too. We'd definitely come back and highly recommend it.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very nice, and a helpful young woman at the front desk, Dulce, made things easier for us. We booked several nights after flying in from Merida because the hotel offered airport transfers. My Spanish is very poor, so the owner personally helped arrange the car service. The only issue was a bad smell from the air conditioning. It bothered me more than my husband, but I'd stay here again, perhaps in a cooler month.
