I wouldn’t recommend it. The only things that redeemed the stay were the cozy fireplace and friendly staff. I paid $3,000.00 for one night, and if that was their most expensive room, it was terrible. It had a fireplace, jacuzzi, king-size bed, and a small sitting area. It was fully equipped and didn’t look run-down. When I called for information, they said the cabin-style rooms had all the amenities they could offer, depending on the room. With a jacuzzi and fireplace, I expected at least a load of firewood and the usual jacuzzi amenities, but they gave us only three bars of soap. Even the cheapest hotels or motels at $500 offer more in that regard. Charging extra for firewood isn’t the issue. The rate should include something beyond the room itself. Breakfast wasn’t included, and they provided only two medium-sized, dirty towels, with no large ones. The jacuzzi had no amenities and was dirty. The bed looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, and given the pandemic, I’d say the room wasn’t sanitized. We brought Lysol and cleaned it ourselves. The pool was dirty too. They had no health and safety protocols in place: no masks, temperature checks, or other measures businesses were using to reopen. For such a high price, the offering was illogical. An all-inclusive hotel night costs the same, and this place didn’t even provide a bottle of water.

The pool is cold, and there’s no way to adjust its temperature. Still, the place was calm and pleasant, and I had a really good stay. The only other letdown was that the hot tub in our room wasn’t very powerful. I’d recommend it if you’re looking to unwind.

Weekend rates feel more like what you’d pay at a five-star hotel, though this place isn’t one. Getting around can also be tough if you have an injury. The rooms have basic furniture and can smell musty at times. On the plus side, there’s a nice partial view of the lake and you can hear the river nearby, even though it isn’t visible.

The bedding smelled strongly of sweat, there were no trash bins, and the service was poor. We arrived to find no water, then waited around two hours for them to send some. For what they charge, that’s outrageous. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t come back.
