Las Luciérnagas

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed the surroundings. The property is lush and green, with beautifully maintained grounds, and there’s an outdoor fireplace area where we sat with wine. Our room was quiet and charming, with thoughtful decor and a comfortable bed that made for good sleep. Juan Carlos greeted us warmly, showed us around, and gave us several lovely restaurant recommendations. We’d happily recommend Las Luciérnagas.

The biggest drawback was the road in: narrow, rocky, full of potholes, and poorly maintained, with no streetlights at night. Still, this is a lovely hidden spot for a private retreat. It has five or six rooms, each different, and the decor mixes a rustic feel with some modern touches. You’ll mostly hear birds and other nature sounds. Some rooms are on the ground floor and others are up a short flight of stairs. There’s a shared outdoor jacuzzi that fits six to eight people, while the larger rooms have their own jacuzzi and a fireplace. Breakfast and dinner can be made to order, though the choices are limited.

I had such a wonderful time here, it’s hard to put into words. The accommodations and service were both great, and the place felt romantic, cozy, and relaxing. I almost didn’t want to leave. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a magical getaway.

Juan Carlos and everyone at "Las Luciérnagas" made us feel so welcome. The service is friendly and warm, and they really make you feel looked after. It’s a lovely place to unwind, with delicious food and great facilities. Definitely my favorite place in Valle. We’ll be back soon.
