Hotel Plaza Bicentenario

I rented a room from the hotel's owners and they kept my deposit. I dealt with Luis, who never gave me his last name. I need help getting this sorted out and my deposit returned. I paid the rent and left the amount they asked for, so now they need to meet their obligations. It's unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber to be made to look so bad by employees like that.

The rooms are very clean and the service is excellent, and the prices are affordable. The Hotel Plaza Bicentenario is worth considering for a stay, especially since it's close to many good places and historical centers.

The location is excellent, right in the center, and the hotel and its hallways have a picturesque look with floral decorations and bright colors. Those are the good parts. The price suggests low expectations, but the photos and descriptions of the features might make someone think this is an ideal hotel. It isn't. I can't give less than one star by default. The internet was awful, and no one ever fixed it, even though it's advertised as included. Each time I asked at reception, I got excuses: the person who handles it wasn't there, maybe I was doing it wrong, or I should wait or restart my phone or computer. The reception staff were indifferent when I asked about the internet or anything else. They were always on their phones and wouldn't even turn around to help a guest. The beds were in terrible shape. You could feel the springs, the mattresses were stained, and there was hair under the sheets. The sheets and towels were so worn they tore when I used them, and the pillows smelled strongly of sweat. There was no air conditioning, and even a fan would have helped. The rooms felt stuffy, with every window facing the back where the water heaters made the heat worse. There's no elevator, which is a serious problem for people with disabilities. They can't get up from the entrance, and the spiral staircase is even worse. Some sections have no handrails, so losing your balance could mean an accident. Booking was concerning too. When asking about prices and availability, they practically pushed me to pay right away. I understand hotels want to secure revenue, but without a direct hotel payment or deposit page, you have to pay a third party, whose name I'll leave out out of respect and confidentiality. There's no guarantee the payment is actually going to the hotel for that room, and there's no contract or guarantee. The place could be a higher-category hotel and bring in more per room given its prime location, but it needs attention to detail across administration, service, and furnishings. I'd recommend it to people who don't mind these problems and want convenience at a very affordable price.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The place was very clean, the location was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it, 100%. You won't have any complaints.
