Holiday Inn Guadalajara Patria Universidad by IHG

The location was good, and most of the employees provided good service. Management was the worst I’ve experienced. My air conditioning didn’t work the first night. They fixed it, but then tried to leave me in a room with a wet carpet. While maintenance was working, items were stolen from the room. I complained and tried to file a report, but they wouldn’t take one or do anything. The maintenance person, who is the supervisor, admitted he had items in his hands and had thrown them onto the bed and floor while repairing the room, but denied taking anything. They protected him. Nobody in charge showed up or dealt with it. I left a bad review and explained the problem in the email survey, but even Corporate didn’t bother to make sure their IHG Hotels provide the service and honesty they should. They moved me to another room for the remaining nights, and that room needed maintenance too. They should fix those problems instead of blaming football players or guests. Broken chairs, broken air conditioning, clogged shower heads, and loose plumbing pipes were all part of the “maintenance” issues. IHG Hotels should provide service like they used to. UPDATE 09/18/2025: Lorenzo Guzman messaged me to contact him directly. I’ll call as soon as I can, though they didn’t give me a phone number, and the DOSM message came despite them having my number. They say they want another chance to do something. They did nothing while I was staying there, but I’ll be fair and see whether they really respond or if it’s just marketing the reviews.

Everything else was fine, but the room service food was a bad experience. The pasta was too salty, and the shrimp looked like fake rubber and tasted awful.

The staff were nice, though I was only there for a work reunion, so I can't say much about the rest of the hotel. The bathrooms were clean, and there’s a restaurant near the entrance that looked pretty elegant. Valet parking was free, with a tip suggested.

We were treated warmly by everyone, and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast in the lobby was good, and room service was great. The valet was a big help. There’s a 711, pizza, tacos, and a Starbucks nearby, and the hotel is close to 3 de Marzo Stadium. The front desk can arrange a taxi, and Wi-Fi is available. I was very happy with my booking.
