La Villa Luz was at the heart of such a memorable trip. My fiancé and I came to Zihuatanejo for the first time to celebrate our engagement, and I’m so glad we booked here. The hotel was lovely and quiet, with a beautiful view over the bay and town, and the cafe food was delicious. Ania, Azucena, Antonino, and the rest of the staff made everything feel special. They arranged flowers and champagne for our arrival, helped set up taxis and water transit, and gave us places to eat. Ania also booked an incredible engagement dinner for us at Kau Kan restaurant, looking out over the area at sunset. I’d absolutely recommend La Villa Luz to anyone after a quiet, amazing boutique stay in Zihuatanejo!!! ❤️

It’s such a peaceful, relaxing spot, and the beach at the bottom of the hill is beautiful with lots of food choices. The walk down is short. The hotel has the feel of a high-end tree house mixed with a hotel, and every detail seemed thought through. Everything was immaculately clean, and all the staff were wonderful. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

We booked through VRBO because of the amenities and property details shown in the listing. Before the trip, the hotel told us they wouldn’t honor the VRBO listing at all. They acknowledged the information was incorrect, but took no responsibility for correcting it or honoring the booking we’d already made. Now we’re scrambling to find somewhere else, and the property has offered no help. It’s misleading and incredibly unprofessional. If you’re thinking of booking through VRBO, be aware that what’s advertised may not be what you get. We won’t book here again.

The street was brutally loud. The hotel sits on a busy road, and with no glass in the windows, only built-in wooden shutters and screens, every passing motorcycle and truck came through. I wouldn’t stay here again because of the noise. The five staff members were wonderful, super friendly, attentive, and good at their jobs. We booked a junior suite, which was clean but tiny and very basic, just a bed and a couple of built-in drawers, not even a chair. The food was great, and we had breakfast there a couple of times.
