The children loved the pool, which faces the deluxe room I stayed in on the first floor of the main building. The room was a decent size with basic amenities, though the bed felt firm and I thought the price was a bit high. The property has three buildings for guest rooms, and there are rules in place to keep everything in good condition. We were here for a family day near Fort Supai, Linggi. It’s roughly 1 km to the beach on foot, past a new chalet or homestay under construction. We weren’t renting the indoor hall, so our activities had to be in the open-air hall, which was hot. Being allowed to use the indoor hall would have made things more comfortable. Still, we really enjoyed the memories from our stay. Thank you, Laman Guesthouse!

There’s plenty of parking, but shops are a bit far, so bring a cooler box if you want cold drinks. The rooms don’t have a minibar. It takes about 5-8 min to walk to the beach. At times there was an unpleasant smell, though I couldn’t tell whether it came from the palm oil plantation or the goat farm. Bring insect repellent and aerosol spray too. In my room, lots of insects got into the toilet and room, which was annoying.

We found this place through Google Map, since I couldn’t find it on Agoda. Our stay was satisfying, and we may come back for another holiday in Malacca. The property is in a private area, not very close to the beach, and is well maintained outside. Our deluxe room was nice, with comfortable bedding, a clean toilet, iron, toiletries, kettle, towels, and a prayer mat for muslim. The rate was RM200 with breakfast for 3 pax, plus RM10 for a kid. The room can fit up to 4 pax.

The small pool was surprisingly comfortable and fun, with different depths for adults and children. Rooms are right in front of it, and the nearby showers and toilets are convenient. They limit stays to 8 families in the post-Covid new normal, which makes this a good place for a family outing. I just wish there were trees to shade the pool. The rooms were super clean and smelled new, staff were friendly and helpful, and they sent the location a day before we were due to arrive. There’s ample parking. For the beach, take the shortcut between the kampung houses for an 8-10 minutes walk instead of following the kampung tarred road. The water is milky, very salty, and rocky, so it’s nice for a stroll but not swimming. Better to use the pool. Buy groceries before arriving if you can. The nearest shop is at the T-junction between Kg Kuala Linngi and Kuala Sungai baru, with another farther in Kuala Sungai Baru. The nearest place to eat is a satay joint on the right side of the main road heading to Kg Kuala Linggi. The satay was tasty, with slightly more meat than town versions, and kampung price was RM1 and RM1.2 per stck for chicken and beef. Try the nugget or wedges boom boom with extra cheese and mayonnaise, RM5 per set, a little more with extra cheese. There’s also a seafood floating restaurant farther along with ikan bakar specialty. We didn’t try it because the reviews we saw said it was pricey or not as expected. Laman Guesthouse won us over with its attention to cleanliness and the surrounding area, plus the friendly staff. Alhamdulillah, it was worth the price.

I stopped by while travelling without a reservation, but it was fully booked. The receptionist was friendly and pointed me toward other hotels. The place looked neat and clean, and the beach is nearby. If you want to stay in the middle of a village, this is the spot.
