Hashtag Hotel (Self check-in)

I stayed in a clean queen room on the third floor, with Wi-Fi and a qiblat sign. The hotel itself was clean too, and checking in and out was easy to do yourself. Just keep in mind there’s no elevator in this three-storey place, especially if you’re older.

The room has just one power outlet, so an extension cord could come in handy if several people need to charge their phones. There’s no fridge, though each room has a water heater, and there’s a shared spot for ironing clothes. The location is easy to find and well placed. Parking is available, but there isn’t much of it and it’s outdoors, which could be awkward in heavy rain. There’s no elevator either. Staff might help when you arrive, but after check-in you’re on your own. The kiosk check-in is straightforward if you know how to use one, and you can ask staff for help if needed.

There’s no elevator, so pack light. The room is just big enough to move around in a step or two, but it’s clean and nice, with Netflix on the TV. Check-in is self-service: enter your booking number, scan your ID, and pay a RM50 security deposit. Checkout is just as easy, and the refund process is simple.

The location’s handy, close to Pekan Simpang Kuala, and there’s plenty of parking. Check-in at the kiosk was convenient, and they returned the RM50 deposit promptly when I handed back the key.
