We attended a wedding dinner here. The venue was easy to find, but parking took more than 20 minutes because the hotel has no basement parking, so many guests had to park far away. The banquet hall was spacious and clean. I’m not sure the food was prepared in-house, perhaps an outside restaurant catered it. Whatever the case, the food was good overall: the mini abalones were a nice feature, the ginseng chicken soup was fantastic, and the curry prawns in Indonesian bun style were delicious, with great curry.

There are some of the best hawkers right outside the premises for dinner at night, which I really enjoyed. The hotel is reasonably priced, and the service was at its best. I liked the vintage, old-fashioned decor, and the customer service reputation is admirable. It gave me a nostalgic feeling, though some areas were a bit scary because of the old facilities. I really enjoyed the moment.

I enjoyed the breakfast and found the hotel nice to stay in. The Sentosa Regency Hotel is a good option for travellers in Alor Setar, with Aman Sentral Mall, Menara Alor Setar (Alor Setar Tower), Masjid Zahir (Zahir Mosque), Sultan Abdul Halim Gallery, Balai Besar (Grand Audience Hall), and Kedah State Art Gallery all within walking distance.

The king category room was nice and good value for money. Breakfast was just okay, though it could use more fruit and a mixed omelette. Food courts are close by, and there’s a Hindu temple nearby.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and a newspaper was delivered in the morning. The hotel is near the main road and not far from Masjid Zahir. Breakfast was average.
