Arte Plus by Afflexia Serviced Suites KLCC

We booked a month ahead and paid in full, but got no instructions for self check-in. At the stated check-in time we arrived and found nobody had told us how to enter. Calls and messages to the owner went unanswered, and nobody seemed to care. We were left outside wasting time while the people responsible couldn’t be bothered to help paying guests. A relaxing stay was ruined. Don’t spend your money here unless you’re fine with being treated like dirt. Even zero stars would be generous for this level of incompetence.

The access road is being built at the moment, so getting to the building can be bumpy and inconvenient. The lifts can get crowded on weekends, school breaks, and public holidays, though one goes straight to your own unit, which is handy with lots of luggage. It’s an affordable, family-friendly place, with a lovely futuristic look. The Lazy River is a nice change from a regular pool. Still a nice place to visit in KL.

The apartment interior is nice, and the staff are friendly. Check-in and check-out were fine, and they bring fresh towels daily. There’s a washing machine, coffee, and toiletries, all decent enough. The building can be confusing, though. The pool rules are a problem: people can just get in wearing T-shirts and no proper swimwear, which is totally unacceptable. Lifts are also an issue at checkout, when they’re full and you have to wait. I’ve stayed here four times under afflexia, and the toilet has always smelled. Really unpleasant.

There’s a beautiful pool and garden on the higher floors, and the building is beautifully decorated. It’s convenient for sightseeing, with plenty of places to eat nearby. The lobby and shared lifts can get crowded, and the many private elevators are confusing. The building management should clear the garbage tourists leave more often, because the main floor sometimes smells bad. Apart from that, it’s a lovely place to stay while touring.
