The breakfast was enjoyable, with a good variety and quality food, and staff were generally attentive and helpful. Those were the best parts of the stay. There were some snags. Our key card didn't work when we arrived, so I called the service desk and waited a few minutes for someone to bring a replacement. The coffee cup and bathrobe in the room had visible stains, and I also came across a plate at breakfast that wasn't properly clean. It was unsettling when another guest kept trying to open my door. I later realized their room was directly opposite mine, and they may have had the same key card problem. Even with these issues, I had a positive stay overall, mainly because of the good service and breakfast.

The staff were so kind and welcoming, and breakfast had lots of choices in a spacious dining hall. Our room was big and comfortable. We stayed with our one-year-old, and all of us slept soundly through the night. One of the best hotels in Malacca. We'll definitely come back.

The desserts were the highlight for me at Ames Hotel Melaka. They were rich, balanced in sweetness, and made with real finesse, some of the best I've tasted. The food was just as impressive, full of flavor, well seasoned, and beautifully presented. I had dinner there for the MICOST 11th Convocation Ceremony on 15 November 2025, with dishes specially prepared for VIP guests. The chef's skill and attention to detail came through in every bite. The whole meal exceeded my expectations, and I'd highly recommend their service for a special event.

I loved the food at this dinner buffet. The salads tasted fresh and flavorful, and the mix of tastes and ingredients was nicely balanced. The buttermilk shellout was so tasty and mouthwatering. Hot cappuccino with foamed milk was perfect for me and my friends too. The buffet was RM108 per adult, excluding SST, but the staff didn't tell us about the extra SST charge. I hope Ames staff improve how they promote the buffet and clearly explain all the details. Please refund the money we already paid for that event. Courteous service can turn a customer into someone who recommends you to others.
