Summit Signature Hotel Batu Pahat

The hotel is a little old, but clean and in a good location. The counter staff were helpful and friendly, and the security guard even helped keep an eye on my car. We first tried to book another hotel, but it was full, so this was our first stay here. Batu Pahat is a small town and unfortunately you can’t find any 4 or 5 star options. This place works for a short stay.

The room was fine, but Summit Parade is now nearly abandoned. For a hotel connected to a mall, that’s probably its biggest weakness, since the mall should be a major advantage.

The staff are friendly and breakfast is not too bad, but I’ve stayed here many times because my company books it for me, and the rooms and linen are ALWAYS dirty. The toilet tissue was damp and yellowish, the pillowcases had yellow marks, and there were black scratches all over the bed. I didn’t dare use the blankets. The vinyl floor wasn’t properly cleaned either. Once there was a red or blood-like stain on the bed and drawer. The basement parking feels scary, and although the location isn’t bad, the one-way road and traffic lights around Summit Mall make getting around a hassle. I’d give it 3/10 or 1/5. Sometimes there’s banging from the floor above in the middle of the night, not sure if it’s human or non-human behaviour :)

Management and security ignored my request to lower the restrictor lock for my EV. I had to park between two EV spaces, and then a photo of my car was posted on Facebook, where I got harsh comments for taking the middle spot. Do better, Summit. If a picture of my car is shared without my consent, I’ll take serious action and sue.
