The shuttle made getting around easy, and the welcome treats and personal note were a thoughtful touch. I slept really well, and found the rooms nicely equipped and the location ideal for the value. The food, atmosphere, and attentive service all suited me. I would have stayed longer if I hadn't already made plans with a local friend. A full five out of five for me.

I went to give my client some local tau sar piah biscuits before they left Penang early in the morning. The security guard stopped me and said handovers had to happen outside the hotel grounds, not in the lobby or at reception. It was embarrassing to have to stand outside just to pass over a small gift. I never expected biscuits to run into such a strict boundary. If you're staying for business, keep in mind that anyone bringing you a gift may have to wait outside too. Quite an eye-opening idea of five-star hospitality, and a very memorable experience.

Dear Management, I'm writing about the parking charges from our visit to Senses Bar at The Iconic Marjorie Hotel yesterday evening. After dinner, staff told us to scan a QR code for a lower flat rate. I paid RM10 through TNG, and my friend paid RM12. At the exit, the scanner still showed RM6 owing for my friend's car. A security officer checked her receipt manually before opening the barrier. The same thing happened when I drove up: it showed RM6 outstanding, despite my RM10 payment, and the officer had to see my proof of payment too. The QR payment and exit systems don't seem to be matching. Based on the RM6 shown at the scanner, we appear to have overpaid by RM4 and RM6 respectively. We were charged different amounts, and the mismatch caused a delay and hassle at the exit. Please clarify the correct flat rate, refund the excess charges, and investigate the system so this doesn't happen again. Could you let us know how to request the refunds and how long resolution will take? Thank you for looking into this.

The staff made our anniversary trip feel special from the start. Director of Rooms Mazlan Mansor and Concierge Mat Hanid deserve a special mention. When the shuttle driver wasn't available, Mazlan drove us to Queensbay Mall himself in the hotel's Zeekr 009 MPV. Hanid suggested places based on what we like, and checked in before and after our day trips. We had some lovely chats with him. We loved our Deluxe room on the 22nd floor, with its Penang skyline view. It was spotless and comfortable, with a firm mattress and a tasteful mix of traditional and modern details. The light colors and bold accents worked for us, and the bathroom design was lovely. The hidden mini-bar drawer was a favorite, with oriental cups and saucers, Kopi-O, vintage tea, and free snacks. For our 25th anniversary they left cake, a card, rose petals, and two swans arranged in a heart on the king bed. Such a nice touch. The lobby's crisp scent helped us relax after the long drive from KL to Penang, and the design felt classy without being too ornate. We also enjoyed the Seafood Buffet at Tiffins Hall and listened to the live band at Senses Bar on three nights. Everyone we met was professional, courteous, and friendly. My husband and I had a fantastic five-night stay, and we'll be talking about it for years. It was our first time in Penang, and we want to come back for the culture and food, and stay at the Iconic Marjorie Hotel again.

I almost didn't post this because I figure the rates will go up! The room was clean and beautifully appointed, and breakfast was tasty, though it got crowded because the food was so good. What stood out most was the care at Senses Bar. There isn't an official lounge, but a lounge is open 24/7 with drinks and snacks. The selection at the bar was a little limited, but the staff were attentive and the service was lovely. Puma was a gem, cheerful and funny, and Daisu's smile and enthusiasm brightened the day. We had an enjoyable stay.
