Hotel Lavie at Centrum

I asked the hotel for a full refund after deciding not to stay, but they refused. Booking.com also didn’t respond when I contacted them, which made an already disappointing experience worse. I booked a room at Lavie Hotel, Cameron Highlands, but had hygiene concerns when we arrived. We asked to see the room before checking in and were told that wasn’t allowed. The room we were shown was very disappointing and unhygienic, so we immediately told the receptionist we would not be staying. I don’t recommend this hotel.

We paid in full but weren’t able to stay, and the details were sent around 5am on our check-out day. We had to find somewhere else for the night. We had already given them our ETA and they knew about it, but management blamed us anyway. Nobody answered our calls, the service was terrible, and we got no refund.

The breakfast was tasty, and the uncle at reception was friendly. That’s about all I can praise. My room had no window, and the smell was so strong it was hard to breathe. Even the small pillow smelled, like it may never have been washed. The wall fan was extremely noisy too, probably the cheapest one they could get. If you have no choice but to stay, I’d only consider a room with a window. Otherwise, I’d skip this hotel.

The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a big bed and all the amenities we needed. It’s easy to get to Centrum Mall, and parking was hassle-free. We’ll definitely come back.
