Citadines Prai Penang

The apartment-style setup made the room feel roomy and comfortable, with a living area and a small kitchen. It was clean and had a modern feel, and the facilities were well maintained. I liked how quiet it was, a nice setting to unwind and take a break from the usual routine. Citadines Prai Penang was easy to reach from Penang Island, which worked well for my short weekend escape. A comfortable, simple option in Prai for a quick reset.

It was quiet and relaxing, and the unit was clean, in good condition and comfortable from the moment I arrived. The amenities were complete, apart from a toothbrush and toothpaste, so it would work well for a short or longer stay. Breakfast had a limited selection, though it was acceptable and filling enough to get the day started. A good pick if you want a clean, well-equipped place with a decent breakfast.

The room itself was nice and fairly spacious, but that was about the only good part of the stay. When we arrived to check in around 3 PM, the front desk staff weren’t very friendly. Breakfast was very basic in both taste and choice, so I’d eat out instead, especially with all the food around Penang. The biggest letdown was housekeeping. We left early for sightseeing and food hunting and got back late in the evening, expecting fresh towels and a tidied room. Nothing had been done. Housekeeping only showed up at around 9 PM, when we were exhausted and ready for bed. For a hotel with this reputation, the service was disappointing. Whether you want to avoid it or stay for the “experience” is up to you.

We picked the three-bedroom unit at the last minute and found it clean, welcoming and comfortable. The beds were large and comfortable, and the living room was spacious. It came with a washing machine, a medium-sized fridge, a cooker hob and a microwave. There was also free-flow water in the small lobbies and coffee in the lobby. Excellent.
