The location is good, but the homestay wasn’t properly maintained. We had bed bugs after one night, and nearly a week later I still hadn’t recovered. Only the fridge worked well. There was no microwave, the rice cooker they provided was broken, and the washing machine only seemed to work. It was a very bad Airbnb stay, and I wouldn’t choose this place again unless they improve the hygiene.
The house was nicely decorated, with a good view facing uphill. The TV had both Android and Astro, which I liked most, and the Wi-Fi was very fast. The kitchen had equipment and a gas stove. The second bedroom had no air-conditioning, just one small fan, so it got quite hot. The owner didn’t mention that the pool costs rm10 per person, so bring money if you plan to swim. Be careful there too: one side is 2 metres deep, which could be dangerous if you miss the sign. Overall, it was okay.
A comfortable, pleasant house in a quiet setting.
The apartments and rooms are showing their age and need extensive refurbishment, though it looks like management is doing what it can to keep the place decent. It’s about 30 mins from the city, just off Kg Baru Bukit Tinggi, Bentong. If you want a nearby place to unwind with fresh air, hills, streams, a village feel, walking spots, and peace and quiet, Selesa could suit you. The name means to feel comfortable, relaxed, and at peace. This isn’t a 5-star resort, though the night sky is full of stars, and the rooms aren’t anything special. The prices reflect that.
It’s clean, so thumbs up for that, and I don’t have many complaints. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, though, and with so many more choices now, it’s definitely overpriced.
