Aroma Hotel

The area is a plus, with food and entertainment nearby. Inside, though, the room is dim, the bed dips a little in the middle, and the toilet and furniture are old and smell unpleasant. The air conditioner also keeps switching itself on and off. Housekeeping staff should avoid gathering and talking loudly outside guest rooms.

Lots of tasty food and restaurants around, and the location gets a 10/10 from me. I stayed two days, and for a three-star hotel it was still okay. The room was clean and tidy, and they had replaced the air-con with a new one.

This is a basic business hotel, with accommodation and no other amenities. It's close to Permatang Pauh industrial Park, and you can walk to the eateries at Raja Uda, where there are lots of lunch and dinner choices. There are also quite a few pubs nearby, so the music might be disturbing. You could ask reception at check-in for a room farther from a pub. During my two nights, the room seemed old and I found a lot of ants. The lighting wasn't enough for working at night, so management might consider adding at least a table lamp.

My friend's door wouldn't lock, and when hotel staff checked it, they found the lock battery was weak. The rooms were reasonably clean and had both air-con and a fan. The toilet towels were thin, and no toothbrush was provided. Comfort and security were good, and the price felt satisfactory at RM200-RM250. There's food nearby, including vegetarian stalls, many restaurants, and pubs. Meals were around RM7-RM30 per plate or set. It was peak season.
