The Edison George Town

The building is old, and that's part of the appeal of staying in a heritage house. The bed was soft, everything worked well, breakfast was lovely, and having snacks available anytime came in handy. We could hear singing from across the street at night, but some white noise helped us sleep well. The service reviews are right. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and they made us feel truly welcome and cared for. We'll definitely come back.

The colonial heritage look of the building is stunning, and Albert and his team were attentive and helpful throughout. Our stay at The Edison was wonderful, with service that made a real difference. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this boutique hotel and would happily stay again if I'm in Penang.

Albert Tan, the Operational Manager, was especially kind and attentive. He and the team went out of their way to make things feel right, and gave us great tips for places to eat, visit, and explore. They even pointed us to less touristy local places with excellent, affordable food, especially seafood. The hotel is a restored heritage mansion with a lovely blend of history and modern comfort. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a gorgeous bathroom. The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, next to the famous Blue Mansion, with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. It was easy to get around the historic streets or head elsewhere in Penang. The pool was beautiful and peaceful, a nice place to unwind after a day out. I also enjoyed the Edison Lounge, where breakfast is served. Guests can get complimentary coffee, tea, cold drinks, and light snacks throughout the day, which adds to the comfort and hospitality. If I return to Penang, I'd definitely stay at The Edison Georgetown again. I couldn't have asked for a better place.

The lounge is a real highlight, with comfortable chairs and great snacks available 24/7. The rooms are nice, and the place feels more like a home than a corporate hotel. Staff were incredibly attentive and courteous, always checking in on us. We'd choose this hotel again if we return to Georgetown. You can hear karaoke from across the street in the room, though it didn't bother me much. It could be an issue for a light sleeper.
