Urban H Hotel

It’s basically part of a tech office, and there’s a strange smell by the lift. The place was somewhat clean, though the gym is terribly under-equipped. There’s a good eatery called Alamak Kopiteum right across the street.

The beds were amazing, and I had the best night’s sleep in the 3 weeks I’ve been in Malaysia. The team made the stay feel special too. From the security guards to the front desk and housekeeping, everyone was welcoming, well trained, and ready to go above and beyond. The place is very clean and clearly well managed. My compliments to the management and ownership team for the great service. There was a slight sewer gas smell in the bathroom. We blocked the drains and used an air freshener, which fixed it for us. The mini fridge could use an upgrade, but that’s nitpicking. The building plumbing or public sewer system seems to be behind the smell, which just comes with the area. Still, the staff quality really stood out.

The room felt a bit small, and the AC right beside the bed could be noisy. The room and bathroom could also have been cleaner. The location was good, within walking distance of chulia street and mccallister, with lots of food outlets nearby.

The fire alarm went off for 1H 30 mins at 4AM in the MORNING. For what it costs, this place was pretty poor value. The rooms are spacious and have enough amenities, but there were stains everywhere. The location is only okay, though there’s good food nearby. The elevator smelled of sweaty people sharing it with office worker, and the building only has 2 floors, the lowest ones. I’d look at other options.
