We loved the heritage character of this beautifully conserved house, and the staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. For someone like me with a bad back, the firm, supportive mattress was a real highlight. Breakfast wasn’t a huge selection, but it was good quality, and we liked the healthy choices. The location is hard to beat, right in the heart of George Town. Most major sights and famous eateries are a 5-15 minute walk away. Two mini-marts are just 3 minutes away, and Michelin-rated Tek Sen restaurant is less than 5 minutes away. We had a fantastic 2-night weekend stay. The brief 1-2-minute water supply pause and lack of a luggage rack were minor given the hospitality and charm. We thoroughly enjoyed it, would recommend it, and will definitely be back.

A lovely heritage hotel, with attentive staff and a pool that was great for cooling off. The room was small but arranged perfectly, with an excellent showroom. It’s a calm oasis within 200 metres of the action. I’d definitely stay here again in Penang.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay at this delightful heritage hotel. The rooms were a good size, beds comfortable, and everywhere clean. Staff were courteous throughout and eager to help. There’s no lift, but they carried our cases up and down. We didn’t use the pool, though it looked lovely. Free water and snacks were available in the lobby all day, and breakfast had an excellent choice of hot and cold food, all delicious. As we left, we were given a lovely pack of postcards as a souvenir. If I’m lucky enough to return to Georgetown, I hope I can stay here again.

The staff deserve the biggest shout-out, they were so kind and friendly and made our stay extra special. The building is beautiful, with stunning heritage decor and a unique feel, right in the heart of Georgetown but tucked away from the busy street. Breakfast was lovely, and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a hot afternoon. Absolutely brilliant hotel, thank you!

The accommodation was perfectly placed for everything, and it looked just like it did in the booking. It had a very traditional feel. Staff were extremely polite and helpful, going above and beyond to carry bags and open doors. The pool area was perfect and well kept, and breakfast was extensive and fresh. We’d highly recommend this place.
