The scenic drive in was extraordinary, but the clubhouse and course fell short of what we expected. We’d driven all the way from Singapore and played on 15/11/2025. The course layout and views are superb, yet there wasn’t much else to look forward to. We considered stopping after the second hole, gave it another chance, then felt we’d had enough after the ninth. With proper upkeep and maintenance from the owners, this could be a top-class course. It’s a real waste to leave it in this condition.

Clearwater Golf has a world-class, one-of-a-kind setting, a real hidden gem, but it feels underdeveloped. The greens are decent and playable; the fairways are average and could use work. The rough is tough, so it’s a challenge for most golfers and not beginner-friendly. Management, please give this place the care it needs. Clearwater could shine as a top destination. Stay, play, eat, Ipoh has it all.

I’d read some bad reviews, but I had a great time at Clearwater Golf Sanctuary today 😊. As a high-handicapper, I found the course fun to play and not too tough ⛳️.

The setting is lovely and makes for a nice break from the busy town. Sadly, the facilities apart from the golf course haven’t been well maintained since MCO.

I played on a Thursday morning and was the only person on the whole course. It’s a scenic, very challenging course, and you can tell it used to be in great shape. Keep your ball on the fairway, because it’ll probably disappear in the rough. There was very little stock in the pro shop, and the restaurant was closed.
