Clover Hotel Ipoh

The receptionist was lovely to deal with and the service was excellent. My room was very clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, a good mattress, and a clean toilet. I slept and rested well.

The price is reasonable and the stay is Muslim-friendly. They provide a green towel to collect at the counter, and there are Coway water dispensers on the ground and first floors. I was on level 2, so I had to go to another floor for water. There’s no hair dryer, shampoo, toothpaste, or toothbrush, but it’s fine for a basic overnight stay. Watch out for plaster bagworms dropping onto the bed. I’ve attached a picture of them.

The room was small and dirty, and the mattress had a hole with springs sticking out, so it was unusable for sleeping and gave me back pain. The hotel staff sold it to guests and never mentioned that parking wasn’t free. They also didn’t tell us about the parking, and the next morning Majlis Ipoh summoned my car while the staff just watched. They should at least arrange something for parking, but they don’t seem to care. Worst hotel ever, and not recommended for families.

Both receptionists were very polite, and when I reported an air-conditioning problem they changed my room. The location is convenient, near Mydin, KFC, McD, and the roundabout. The interior design is nice, but the bathroom door was already damaged when we arrived and a piece fell onto the floor. The water heater didn’t work properly either. It’s a budget hotel, so I know expectations can’t be too high, but with no lift and only quite steep stairs, it isn’t suitable for senior citizens or OKU guests.
