What a lovely find for a getaway with my mum and aunt. The double queen room was spacious, and I really enjoyed the lounge area. Its quaint decor won me over, with art, aged furniture, and wall details mixing classic and contemporary styles for an arty boutique feel. For my morning coffee, they thoughtfully provided Famous White Ipoh Coffee in the room instead of Nescafé sachets. Perfect for the three of us.

The room, reception service, and housekeeping were all good. My concerns were the door security, since it uses a regular key, and the shower water, which gets onto the toilet and the side of the door.

The room was old and dirty, with a broken cabinet and refrigerator. There was lots of cockroach droppings, no hair dryer, and the floor was so filthy our feet turned black as soon as we walked in. The air conditioning took a while to cool, and the water heater didn't work. There are plenty of hotels in Ipoh, so avoid this one.

I've stayed here four times in a row each September for an Ipoh function with my family, and Fair Park Hotel is very conveniently located. This time I reported that the air conditioning wasn't cool. The maintenance team and supervisor took it seriously and moved us to another room to check the temperature. The maintenance staff were friendly and quick to respond. Keep it up, Fair Park Hotel team, and thanks for a wonderful stay.

I loved the old-school, authentic feel of the lobby, and the receptionists were polite and attentive. The room didn't meet my expectations, though. The bed was clean and comfortable, but there was hair on the toilet floor and lots of stains. The room phone didn't work, and the toiletries were just shampoo and body wash in pump bottles. The room had a top-floor view, but parking was very limited.
