Jomstay Majestic Suite 1

The unit looks nice, is clean, has a decent view, and is in a great location. The host was responsive, but the problems inside made the stay difficult. I hesitated to leave a low rating because the host seemed to be trying hard, but guests should know about a few things. This review is for the Majestic Suites. The Google pin is wrong and points to the building next door. Maybe Jomstay manages both buildings, but the location marker isn't right. It was noisy all night, every day. A partly abandoned building across the street is full of bats making sounds. At first we thought they were birds from the park, but they were bats. There's also a strong sewer smell from the restroom off the living room. Running its fan didn't help because it vents into the laundry room by the kitchen. The other master restroom was fine. There were only two of us, so we could manage, but the smell stayed the whole time. The air conditioners in the rooms blow straight at the bed and pillows. We had to sleep with a pillow over our heads so we wouldn't get sick, but without the AC it would have been too hot. I imagine this affects the whole building. Also, don't walk down the big street behind the building. The alley is okay, but by the 7-11 there are several homeless men sleeping on the ground and relieving themselves in public. Late checkout costs 30RM per hour when available. They offered us one free hour in exchange for a Google 5 star review, so some reviews may be influenced by that. Take them with a grain of salt.
