Hotel O Comfort

The service was the worst part, and I won't stay here again. We were only looking for a place to rest on our trip from KL to Betong Thailand, not expecting anything fancy, but this was still disappointing. Our online booking was already paid, yet at around 12:30am, after riding a long way by motorcycle, we were told we needed a RM50 cash deposit. I asked to pay another way, but the receptionist refused and wouldn't let us check in or refund the booking. He said all 2-star hotels only take cash deposits. After a long argument, he let my wife and me into the room, but said I had to find an ATM or we'd be kicked out. I left my wife and our things there and searched around Ipoh town until 2am. I didn't know where to find an ATM after midnight, with banks and petrol stations closed. After asking several locals, one suggested a MEPS ATM at a KK MART. I admit we should have brought enough cash, but the hotel staff could have offered another way to pay or tried to help. The room itself wasn't comfortable either. The air conditioner was old but okay, the bed wobbly but okay, and the old furniture and limited space were understandable for a budget hotel. There were no toiletries, and at first no towel, so I had to ask at the counter. The lighting felt like a horror movie, and the location was secluded, a little scary for a woman at night. We paid RM65 before taxes for a double room. I've stayed in much better budget hotels for less. Price and room condition weren't the main issue, the service was sad and disappointing. I'll blacklist this place, haha.

The toilet hadn't been cleaned before the room was handed over. Someone had urinated there, rubbish was left behind, the bedsheet was dirty, and the mirror was filthy. Mosquitoes were flying around too. The staff were rude, including the manager, who argued defensively instead of being polite. Very poor maintenance. I've never seen a hotel this bad.

I stayed six days. The price was fair, and both the room and bathroom were clean. They can change the towels. It's clean, but very old.

For a last-minute booking, the place was still clean, including the bathroom. The price was fair, and you get what you pay for.
