Gem Hotel Nusajaya

The rooms were clean, and the staff were always helpful whenever I needed assistance. The hotel is very convenient, close to everywhere and making it easy to get to any destination. There’s an iron on every floor, so there’s no need to call the operator or housekeeping to bring one. The receptionists are kind and always smiling ❤😁

There’s plenty nearby, including a 99 Speedmart opposite, coin laundry, clinics, a mini market, mamak, warung tomyam, and other places to eat. The area is active without being too busy, and it’s bright at night. We stayed with the kids for Legoland and would consider coming back. The hotel faces the main road, the area is clean, and the room, sheets, and toilet were clean too. The water heater worked, the AC was good, the TV was okay, and the staff were friendly. My earlier calls went unanswered, though, and the walls are a bit thin. One thing I didn’t like was the frosted-glass toilet. You can see through it even with the light off.

The counter staff stood out. He was polite, helpful, respectful, and honest, and available around the clock. The shared shower and toilet were clean, but otherwise there was nothing outstanding. This feels like a hostel posing as a hotel, with paper-thin walls, no concrete, and no soundproofing. If your room is near the main road, you’ll hear traffic all night. Also, keep proof that you paid the tourism tax. They seem to default to collecting MYR10 if you don’t challenge it.

There’s no ATM nearby, though parking is plentiful. The hotel only takes cash or online payment. I stayed in a fairly spacious double deluxe room with a private toilet and a window, but had trouble getting phone service. Wi-Fi was poor, while the staff were very helpful. Back then, during COVID-19, it was cheap at about RM40 a night. I’m not sure what it costs now. It’s quite far from Aeon and the waterpark. There’s a Speedmart and plenty of other convenience stores nearby, along with mamak, Chinese, Malay, and Indian restaurants. It was an amazing experience.
