Millesime Hotel

The breakfast was the worst buffet I've had in Iskandar Puteri so far. I'd use the RM 20 for a hearty meal at a local kedai mamak, or put it toward a better hotel breakfast. The road from the highway is very dark at night, too. The receptionist was polite and greeted me with a smile, which is why I gave 5 stars for service. I wish the room and breakfast had matched that service. My corner room faced away from the highway, but the toilet window and entrance faced it, and noise from kapchais got very loud at night. The corridor is open, so sound comes through the front door. The room feels old and dated, with very dim lighting. The bed was uncomfortable, and I wasn't sure how clean it really was. The toilet was clean and had good hot water, but it needs renovation and the rainshower switch was broken, so I could only use the hand shower.

The most worrying part was check-out. We handed in our room card that morning and waited for the deposit, but the Indian lady at the counter said it had already been refunded to someone else. She showed us that my photocopied IC had been attached to the wrong room number. I was shocked, since we'd only just returned the card, and don't understand how the system showed us as checked out earlier. It felt like poor management of guest information. The small convenience store was another unpleasant experience. We bought instant noodles and couldn't tell where to get hot water because the area was messy and unclear. When we accidentally dropped something, the Malay lady staff scolded us instead of helping. Her attitude was unfriendly and made us uncomfortable, like we should buy or leave, and she scolded guests. The lifts were open to the public, with no proper control over which floors people could access, so we felt unsafe. The building is quite old, the pool was being renovated during our stay, and there weren't many shops or places nearby, which was inconvenient.

The breakfast cost RM20 per adult, but there wasn't much for the price: fried bee hoon, fried rice and noodles, overcooked sunny-side-up eggs, thick porridge, pickles and soy sauce. There were a few pieces of toast, plus fruit punch, coffee or tea. It was very basic and disappointing. In the room, the safe didn't work. The replacement was so light one person could easily carry it off, which defeats the point. The towels looked grey and old rather than white, and the wallpaper was peeling. Noise from outside and other rooms came through clearly, making it hard to rest. The corridor had no air-conditioning, which was really uncomfortable in hot weather. The place felt poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and overpriced for what it offers. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The price was reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was a bit rundown, with old furniture and stains, especially in the toilet. Ours faced the highway, so it stayed noisy even at night.
