The Square Hotel

It felt worth the money in the end. The water pressure was low, but they use top brands for the equipment. Service was nice and the staff were helpful, though the welcome felt a bit warm. I was surprised to find a welcome drink and snack without anyone mentioning them. They were stingy with bottled water, but a staff member advised me to use the branded dispenser instead. For a budget hotel, it's decent.

Parking is public, but I had no trouble finding a spot nearby. The family room was clean and the location is convenient, right in front of Tasek Central Mall's North Entrance. I had a great one-night stay and would definitely come back.

The walls let through quite a bit of noise, and I could hear people next door at night. The room itself was compact but well kept, with no dusty surfaces or dirty floor. There were two pillows, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked. The interior felt cozy and smelled pleasant. The bathroom had no soap bar or attached liquid soap, which was inconvenient.

I've stayed here before, but I won't return. I paid for larger rooms, yet two were clearly smaller, and staff said it was just a different layout. Only one of the larger rooms could fit a wheelchair. If you're disabled or older and have trouble walking, that could be a problem, since a smaller room won't fit a wheelchair; there are also stairs outside the hotel and two steps outside the lift. I didn't realize room cleaning wasn't automatic and that you had to fill out a form. I found a cockroach, the bidet spray was broken, and they said each room gets just one toilet roll when I asked for more. The walls are very thin too. If you're a light sleeper, loud families with kids could keep you awake.
