Atelier Hotel Johor Bahru

We were very happy with our stay in the family suite. It had a king bed and a single bed, plus a bathtub in the bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the room came with towels, dental kits, a kettle, coffee, tea, a mini fridge and a hairdryer.

Atelier Hotel Johor Bahru at Permas gave me one of the warmest, most memorable hotel stays I’ve had, thanks in large part to a front desk staff member. He was a mixed Malay-Chinese gentleman with an earring in his left ear and a small Taiwan-themed tattoo on his right hand. I’m sorry I forgot to ask his name. He was friendly, warm and professional from the moment I arrived, and made me feel genuinely welcome. His service added a lot to my trip, and I’d happily choose this hotel again.

The receptionists were honest and helpful when I accidentally left my passport and some cards in the lobby. They contacted me promptly on WhatsApp, kept my things safe, and I collected everything without trouble. There were no unauthorised transactions, which was a relief. My friend and I stayed in a Standard Twin Room with Garden View a few months ago. It was clean, had no unpleasant smells, and the layout gave us plenty of room around the basin to get ready together. The location was reasonably quiet and away from heavy traffic. We were a little concerned about construction noise nearby, but it stopped by evening and we slept well. Water refill stations were convenient. A few things could be better. I wish the lift required a room key to select a floor. Besides the room key, security seemed limited, with only a female receptionist at the ground floor. There were mosquitoes around the lobby and just outside, so bring repellent if you’ll spend time there. Some patches on the bedsheets and duvet looked mended, though we weren’t sure if they were repairs or holes. It was a minor issue. All in all, a comfortable stay with security that could improve.

Puteri Siahfinas at the front desk was thoughtful and proactive. She patiently checked availability and did her best to arrange for me to return to this hotel. Her efficient, kind help made a real difference and kept me from having to leave a negative review about the situation. I was impressed by her professionalism and customer service, and she’s a real asset to the team. The location is convenient. The air conditioning made the room pleasant for sleeping without getting too cold. There’s no in-room safe for valuables, and the walls aren’t soundproof, so you can hear nearby guests closing doors. Light sleepers should keep that in mind. I’d recommend asking Puteri Siahfinas for help with bookings or check-in.
