Golden Horse Hotel by OYO Rooms

The room was full of baby cockroaches and ants. The receptionist said we could spray pesticide ourselves or take the last room, which was also dirty, with torn mattresses and ants everywhere. We couldn’t stay, so after only about five minutes in the room we asked for a full refund. She refused, saying she had already entered our check-in details in the oyo system and would lose money by refunding us. That seemed unfair after the hotel had overbooked us and was still unwilling to return our money. We’d prepaid through agoda, but when we arrived the golden horse hotel was overbooked. The receptionist gave little explanation and demanded extra money because the next available room cost more. We were appalled, but it was already 10pm and we had nowhere else to go. In the end, we left and headed back to Singapore despite the late hour. We had nowhere to stay in johor bahru, and the hotel was very unhygienic. Amy, I’ll come back for you and your boss if my refund isn’t processed yet.

We booked on agoda on 24/11 and paid there, but when we arrived to check in on 26/11, staff said the hotel was fully booked. They asked us to cancel and get a refund. So paying early still doesn’t mean there’ll be a room? Bad experience.

The room was smelly, but at least there was space to breathe. You have to climb the stairs to reach reception.

The room floor was oily and the toilet was dirty and smelly. There was no cupboard. Very bad.
