Hotel CIQ @ Wong Ah Fook

The room and linen were tidy and clean, and the front desk staff always greeted us with a warm smile. It doesn't have the hardware of a four-star hotel, but for what we paid, it was definitely worth it.

The strong air conditioning was great in the hot weather, and the room was clean and comfortable. I felt very safe with a police station right outside the entrance. City Square is just a short walk away, so getting cash and shopping was convenient. There are lots of coffee shops, BBQ chicken wing stalls, and other local snacks behind the hotel.

The room was fine, nothing special, but comfortable enough for one night. It's not soundproof, so you can clearly hear people chatting in other rooms. There's a police station beside the building, which I guess makes it feel safer, haha. But walking around nearby alone didn't feel safe. As a girl, you'll get catcalled a lot.

HOTEL CIQ, April 2026 🏨 I paid $120 Singapore dollars on Trip.com for 4D3N. The WiFi was fast and stable, and there are plenty of food stalls nearby, including a 24-hour Malay stall below the hotel. The aircon worked well, was quiet, and got very cold. The room and toilet were clean with no bad smell. It's convenient for “woodland checkpoint”/Singapore, JB central, and city square, and the colourful building was easy to find. I felt safe with a big police station next door. The water heater worked too. The TV was okay, still watchable. The shampoo smelled nice but came in a tiny bottle. There's no fridge or tissue, though there was toilet roll. The coffee powder tasted weird, and the staff spoke minimum English. Soundproofing was very bad, I could hear motorcycles and people talking or walking outside and beside my room. The bedsheet was not clean and intact.
