It’s in a handy spot, about 10 minutes on foot from the main railway station and the tourist sites in Johor Bahru. The hotel was clean, the staff were nice, and my room was big, with a private bathroom. There was air conditioning and toiletries, and I could leave my luggage for free in a special room beside reception. The bathroom was a bit dirty, though, and I felt the price was a little high compared with similar hotels in Malaysia.

There’s plenty of food nearby, and the aircon and hot water were good. The room felt a bit dated, and the soundproofing was poor. Noisy neighbours made it worse, with loud music, vehicles, and other noise.

We come back about once every two months, usually when we need a short break from home, and my husband and I keep choosing this place. The staff are friendly, though housekeeping sometimes disturbs us in the morning even after we’ve asked them not to. Otherwise, everything’s been good. It’s a basic hotel, but the essentials work: clean towels, good water pressure and hot water, plus a working kettle, TV, and air conditioning.

The mutton soup is worth trying at Sup kambing, just behind the lane in the next building. The room itself was very clean, with a comfortable protected mattress, cold air conditioning, and hot water in the shower.

There are places to eat around the hotel, and the price is very affordable. The room is a little old, but generally still alright. Remember the RM 50 deposit, which they refund when you check out. 4/5.
