Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre

The service staff and housekeeping were superb, and I was impressed by how much pride they take in their work. The hotel was clean, cosy, and comfortable, and I loved the high-end toiletries. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed in JB, and I’ll definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay. The room was clean, and all the staff were polite and attentive to what we needed. The location is right next to KSL, with great food choices and plenty of massage places nearby. A one-night stay is economically viable during the lower peak season. One thing to check: Grab currently shows the wrong hotel location and pickup point. Google Maps has the correct address, so double-check before booking your ride.

The breakfast was average at best. On the first morning I came down around 9am, many items weren’t being replenished, and you’re probably better off eating outside. The next day the menu was exactly the same, though I came down earlier, around 8am, and the food was still available. The hotel is new and has potential, but several things disappointed me. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly on check-in night, though they fixed it after about an hour. There were also quite a lot of flies in the room. Renovations are ongoing, so expect drilling noise in the afternoon, and the gym was out of service because of the work. Some areas still need improvement.

The birthday cake from the team was such a thoughtful surprise, and it made the visit feel extra special. I also liked how easy it was to get around, with KSL and plenty of shops, food, and essentials close by. The room was comfortable, clean, and well kept, and the front desk team made check-in easy with their friendly help. Had a great stay and would come back or recommend it to people visiting JB.
