Residences at Daya by SR Home

The rooms are clean and looked after, and there’s a washing machine, an iron and board, an oven (not a microwave), an electric kettle and an induction cooker. The gas stove didn’t work, and only one cooking pot was usable. The kitchen utensils were very worn. Wi-Fi was okay but slowed down at times. There’s a TV, though you have to use apps to watch shows.

The building’s energy saving setup is a little spooky: lights come on one by one as you walk past, so the lobby was pitch dark until I came in and it suddenly lit up. Even our GrabFood rider seemed creeped out! We stayed one night as a family and the rooms, bathrooms and living space were clean, tidy and well kept. The place was simple and modern, just right for a short stay. One letdown was the pool mart’s big “24 hours” sign, since it was closed when we went at 1am. At night there aren’t many places to eat within walking distance, so you’ll probably need GrabFood or a ride to a mall. Still, we had a comfortable stay, and I’d recommend it to families after clean, affordable accommodation in JB.

It’s easy to get to nearby malls from this good location, and the rooms are clean and maintained well. The TV can’t access Netflix or YouTube, though, and the Wi-Fi signal is only one bar in half the apartment.

The location is great and the room is a good size, but the apartment was old and the kitchen ceiling seemed to have insect nesting. Small cockroaches were running around the living room when I arrived for my December 10-11, 2022 stay. The kettle didn’t work, the carpet looked old and dirty, and the towel provided wasn’t very clean either.
