Studio Homestay@Austin Regency JB

The location was convenient, but the unit’s condition, safety issues, and slow response from JCHome by MWM Homestay Airbnb made the stay a poor experience. This was unit A-10-02, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I expected a comfortable, secure home away from home, but it felt cramped and poorly maintained. It was a studio divided into two bedrooms, which increased sleeping capacity at the expense of space. The living area had only a two-seater sofa, with sagging, uncomfortable cushions, and the balcony chairs were damaged. Noise from loud knocks and impacts in the unit above was frequent. There was no water dispenser or filtered drinking water, so guests have to buy bottled water. My main concern was security. The external grille door was damaged, and the metal latch for a padlock looked as if it had been cut off. A key was provided, but it couldn’t lock the grille, so only the main door stayed locked throughout my visit. That made me feel unsafe, especially at night. The toilet door was damaged and wouldn’t close properly, and the bedroom door locks weren’t working properly either. Before check-in, it was already difficult to get the instructions from the host. After checking in, I reported the damaged security grille and toilet door right away, but the response was very slow and unhelpful. Other than the air conditioning and electrical appliances, many parts of the unit showed wear and poor upkeep. At about RM500 per night before discounts, and still overpriced after discounts, I didn’t feel it was good value for its condition or the overall experience.
