The hotel is conveniently placed near shops, food options, and main roads, so it works for business or family trips. I stayed at The Point Boutique Hotel for a short business trip, and the clean, maintained room was comfortable. The bed was cozy, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the room felt pleasant and relaxing. Staff were generally polite and helpful when approached, though the service team could respond a bit faster. It’s a nice boutique hotel for the price, and a simple, comfortable place to rest.

We arrived on a day when there had been a fire accident, so we had to wait until around 7pm to check in. Staff said the system was down and gave us no room keys, using the master card to let us into our room. While we waited at reception for our friends, manager Mr Gopi handed another guest a master room key to shut her up, and asked the receptionist why she didn’t give it to her so she would be quiet. Can master keys just be handed out to anyone? After dinner, our room keys were ready. When we went up, the lights didn’t work. The receptionist said there were no maintenance people at that hour and it could only be fixed in the daytime. If something happened in the middle of the night, would we have to wait until morning? Shouldn’t someone be available for emergencies? Around 2am, a man tried to open our door. When we asked who he was, he said he’d been assigned the same room. The next morning we raised it with hotel manager MR GOPI. He said the system hadn’t been updated, so staff had allocated the room to someone else. When I pressed him about the safety issue, he asked if I wanted the staff member fired, blamed the staff, told them to answer me, then walked away. Where is the concern for guest safety? The manager is responsible for incidents at the hotel, yet he simply walked away when I raised this. I asked reception to get the lights fixed, went out to run errands, and returned at 1.45pm. They still weren’t fixed, and I needed to get ready by 3pm. Mr Gopi told me to relax because it wasn’t even 2pm yet and there was enough time. Who was he to tell me how much time I needed? They repaired the lights and left, but they went out again. Mr Gopi said the fault was with the staff because they hadn’t repaired them properly. Why didn’t he ask them what went wrong or get someone else? He finally decided to move me to another room. He checked for availability, called my room, and said, "Mam, u can come down to the reception and take the new room key and do a room transfer URSELF". He had given me a faulty room, yet expected me to go down and handle the transfer myself. Shouldn’t he bring the key to my current room and help with the move? The stay was a disaster. I understand the fire wasn’t intentional, but MR GOPI’s attitude and handling of everything were horrible. He has ZERO customer service. The staff were so helpful compared with him. He only seemed concerned about his regular customers. I paid for my stay, it wasn’t free.

The hotel is worth the price, and the staff were helpful, professional, and quick to respond. Shoutout especially to Anju and Abdul. The soundproofing is the drawback: you can hear people talking and showering next door. At this price, though, what more can you expect?

The family room was spacious, with a large toilet, and the staff service was great during my two-night business trip. The location was okay. The walls are thin, so I could hear people next door talking, and the air conditioning wasn’t very cold even at its lowest setting, though it was bearable. Another reviewer mentioned a smell. The hotel itself didn’t smell, but the area around it did because of poor drainage. The water was stagnant, looked milky, and stank badly. I’m not sure what the local council is doing.

There’s a minimart and a 7-Eleven nearby, which is handy, and the room itself is quite spacious. Check-in requires a RM50 deposit. The main issue is the air conditioning, which seems dusty and poorly maintained, so it may not suit anyone with sinus problems. A window room lets you open the window if you prefer, but motor noise outside can be pretty loud at night, so light sleepers should avoid those rooms.
