Karak Orchard Resorts

The staff are a real asset here, very friendly and helpful, and that gives the resort a good foundation. The stay was generally pleasant, with clean rooms and lots of activities, including a flying fox, pool table, swimming pool, dinosaur park, boat pedaling, animal farm, hiking, bicycles and ATV rides. Some rides were in good shape, while others weren’t well kept. It may be better to focus on a few popular activities and maintain them well, since having lots of options that are neglected can leave a poor impression. Quality matters more than quantity. The restaurant food is tasty, which is especially welcome given how far the resort is from the nearest town for food. The portions come in S and L, and adding an M size would suit more group sizes. The rooms are comfortable. It would also help families with infants if a baby cot were complimentary on request, since RM70 per night to rent one is expensive. There’s plenty of parking, and the setting is quiet and tranquil.

We tried hiking to the nearest hill the next morning to catch the sunrise, but dusk and rain covered the morning light. The water villa was a superb experience on our last vacation, and everything was clean and tidy. The pool had a cool view and a fresh breeze. I loved the nature around the place. It’s a great spot to unwind away from the city. The bicycles could use proper maintenance to help avoid accidents.

Our team really enjoyed the resort facilities, from a basketball game to team-building activities, and the clean, spacious rooms gave us enough room for a company dinner and speeches. We were a group of 42 on a company trip on 31st August. I’d visited with family before, and we picked Karak Orchard Resort this time because it’s close to the Elephant Sanctuary. Breakfast was provided too. Getting up at 6 AM for the 1.5 km walk to the sunrise spot was worth it, and the flying fox was a thrilling highlight. The durian session was disappointing. We spent over a thousand ringgit, but the stall attendant wasn’t very friendly and charged us without explaining the prices or types of durian. They didn’t mention the weight or specific costs, which made the transaction feel uncomfortable. It was a good trip overall, and a nice place for team-building, though the durian stall service needs work.

The food was delicious and came in big portions, so everyone was full and satisfied. The early hiking session was also a highlight, even though getting up so early was tough. It was an easy walk with a fantastic view. We had around 45 people for a team-building event in June 2023. Staff communication was really good, replies were quick and detailed, and the pricing was clear. There’s lots of lovely scenery and laid-back spots, with plenty of room to walk around and abundant parking.
