Sea Lion Hotel @ Klang

The rooms are compact, and the floor tiles aren’t secured properly. There are air pockets under the tiles in a few rooms, including 105 and 211.

I’d booked and paid for two rooms through agoda two weeks earlier, but when I arrived to check in at 11 at night, I was told the hotel was full and there were no rooms because of an agoda system problem. It felt like they’d given our rooms to someone else, assuming I wouldn’t show up. The person in charge in the lobby just said, “taktau lah nak buat apa,” which was incredibly irritating. The manager then offered more excuses about the air conditioning and heater not working, which didn’t make sense. Extremely poor service from the manager and staff. I was very disappointed and unhappy, and wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was very dirty, and the walls felt thin. People in the next room were shouting and banging on the door, which made me feel unsafe. I paid 88rm, far too much for what I got, and the room didn’t look like the pictures.

Public transport is basically nonexistent here, and taxi service is unpredictable, so you really need your own transport. The location itself is very handy, with good places to eat nearby. It’s a budget hotel made out of shophouses.
