Perdana Kota Bharu

The shower is loud, just so you know. They've recently renovated since my earlier visits, and the rooms feel much more spacious now; the lobby looks nicer too. The buffet remains great, with a wide range of food. I especially liked the croissant and scrambled eggs.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast was splendid. I loved the cozy feel and especially the hotel scent in the lobby, which reminded me of the light hotel penang. The staff also wore full traditional baju melayu. I'll come back during raya haji.

The hotel is outside the town centre, though there's a food court nearby. After years away, I was amazed by how it had changed from average accommodation into something close to a luxury hotel. Beautiful paintings and historical pictures decorate the reception, corridors, and rooms, which are spacious. The bed was so comfortable, with extra long pillows. Prayer mats hang with signs saying they're for Muslims to pray. I wish they'd also provide a simple telekung, as some other hotels I've stayed at do. The concierge greeted us so courteously each time we returned to the lobby after dinner invitations from friends. Breakfast offered plenty of Western and local choices. I preferred the nasi kerabu and nasi dagang to nasi lemak, and the teh tarik was a plus alongside the coffee machine options. There's a good-sized family swimming pool and a big TV. This is the first hotel I've visited with separate recycled and non-recycled bins. I'd give it five stars.

After 36 years, coming home to Perdana Kota Bharu was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed my four days and three nights at the newly renovated hotel, with most of the amenities refreshed. Ashraf and Fanieki made my impression of Perdana KB unforgettable. They were both helpful and friendly from the moment I walked in. Ashraf arranged a surprise wedding anniversary cake for me, and Fanieki helped with my luggage with a smile. Thanks, Ashraf. You didn't just make me happy as a guest, you've gained a new friend in me. Congrats to Perdana KB for having such great staff.
