The morning view of the city was lovely, and it was nice coming back to Renai Hotel to rest after work. The staff made the stay especially good, from the receptionists and security guards to the dining hall staff, housekeeping, and maintenance team. Everyone was friendly and had a great attitude. On my first day, they even recommended local food to try. A special thanks to Sabri from maintenance, who came late in the evening right after I asked to have my bathtub cleaned. It had a few faint yellowish stains, but after he cleaned it, it was gleaming white. The housekeeping team also put my messy personal things in order, sorted my toiletries neatly, and wiped the counter clean. Very tidy, OCD-approved. Breakfast really raised my standards. There were Kelantan kuih-muih and local dishes like Nasi Kerabu, Laksam, Laksa, Roti Titab, and Kacang Pool, along with Western food, yoghurt, kimchi, and pastries. Plenty of choices, and the Teh Tarik was to die for. My trip was memorable, and Renai made a lovely place to return to at the end of the workday.

We went as a family and booked a connecting deluxe room and, if I remember right, a suite. The room was very nice and comfortable. As a wheelchair user, I found the toilet a bit small to move around in freely, though the rest of the hotel felt very wheelchair-friendly. At breakfast, the workers seemed unfamiliar with wheelchair users and looked awkward. I think they need more training to support people with disabilities. It was still a fun stay, with a good hotel and good vibes.

The staff were friendly, and housekeeping kept our room in great shape. Renai Hotel Kota Bharu is conveniently located near the city centre, and it was easy to get around. Breakfast had good local options, including roti jala, roti titab, nasi kerabu, kacang pool, and especially good rendang daging. Even with a cheaper room rate, we had a bathtub and strong water pressure. Guests get free basement parking, but you need to validate before leaving. The furniture and bathroom could use some updating, though we had a comfortable, good value stay.

The supermarket at Billion Mall next door was handy, and I’d recommend the five-minute walk to DP WAN SARI PULUT for Pulut Bakar Daging, which I really liked. Our room on the 14th floor was spacious and clean, though the bathtub didn’t work and the place felt dated despite its five-star rating. Facing the main road, it was noisy, and we could hear the daily calls to prayer from two nearby mosques. For the price and comfort, though, it was okay compared with the other hotels we looked at online.

Wawa, the PIC, was attentive and tried to fit in our requests for the staff hi tea event. It went smoothly, even with a couple of small hiccups on our side. We also stayed using the RM238 promo, which included breakfast for two. Since it was my 2yo daughter's birthday, I asked for a slice of cake and they gave it to us free. Complimentary parking for two cars was a big help while traveling with a baby. It was my first stay here, and I’d recommend it for an event or a staycation.
