Good value for a short stay if you only need basic facilities. It’s in the centre of KK city, with lots of F&B outlets within 300-500m. Gaya street, the popular Sunday Market street, is three streets away.

The room was clean, with the furniture set up well and plenty of plug points. This hotel is actually quite great. If I come to KK, Sabah again, I’ll visit. Bravo to the management, good job.

Gemilang Hotel is conveniently placed in the city centre, and Amanda and Mark were welcoming and helpful when I checked in. The room had the basic amenities, though I’d like more TV channels. The main road noise was the only real downside, so some soundproofing would help.

The location is very good, and the hotel staff and reception were friendly and helpful. The room was manageable for me, though it wasn’t as clean as the Agoda photos made it look. It’s a bit small, so probably decent for a solo stay. I faced the main road and it was very noisy, with lots of motorcyclists revving their bikes for no reason.
