The WiFi worked okay. When it dropped out, we could reset the router and it worked fine again. The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and respectful, and cooked a ripper breakfast. Our room for five had enough space for all of us and our gear, and the lockers were especially handy for keeping valuables secure while we were out. Thanks for the hospitality.

The karaoke nearby carried on through the night, so you could hear it from the room. Still, the staff were friendly, and the basic room had a nice bathroom with really hot water. They also made us an early breakfast before our Mt kinabalu walk. Tea and coffee were available around the clock, as was reception. Restaurants, a 7/11, and the bus station are close by.

We were seven in the family, and the private bathroom family room was more than enough for our one night. Breakfast even included scrambled eggs and a sausage, which I hadn't expected. Sinsuran Night Market is about a 15-minute walk away. My one complaint is the bunk bed squeaked loudly whenever a child climbed up or down. I'd recommend the hostel.

For a very cheap hostel, it covers the basics with a bed and bathroom, and the corridor and shared areas are set up. Some corners could use more cleaning and vacuuming. A mattress protector and a more proper blanket would be appreciated too. 😉

Suria Sabah is only a 5-6 minute walk away, with banks, a salon, and Malay and Chinese eateries also easy to reach on foot. The staff were courteous, made us a free breakfast, and answered our questions. It's a really nice place to stay for a reasonably cheap price.
